Talking Pumps with Hydro – Keeping Cool Under Pressure

Hi everyone,

It’s Jackie and Scott again here with another conversation about pumping applications for the janitorial and sanitation industries. Today’s topic is automation for chemical pumping dispensers that will help you come away looking like a hero for your customers.

Jackie

Variable pressure at a customer’s facility can create some big problems if they don’t have a way to regulate water pressure to the system. Scott, can you tell us how we can address those customer issues?

Scott

You’re absolutely right, Jackie. Water pressures can wildly fluctuate from 35 to 80 PSI at a large office building depending on water usage in the building at the time. If you don’t have a way to regulate rising water pressure, your chemical dilution performance will be inconsistent. Sales may go down due to slower chemical usage and customers might leave through no fault of your own because the end result doesn’t meet client expectations.

Jackie

Can you say a little more about that?

Scott

Sure. When water pressure increases, dilutions will “lean out.” That means the chemical concentrations will include more water than the standard dilution ratio. This imbalance delivers varying and improper results. You’ll end up with unhappy customers and lower chemical sales all because of fluctuating water pressure. With integrated AccuPro pressure regulation technology on the AccuMax 4P, your dilutions stay flat even when water pressure rises in your accounts. You can maintain a constant pressure on the eductor and standardize chemical dilution no matter if you have 35 PSI or 80 PSI.

Jackie

Absolutely, unregulated water pressure is a silent thief. The AccuMax 4P will help with those problems. So, how does AccuMax 4P work?

Scott

I’m glad you asked. The AccuMax 4P can feature either e-Gap or AirGap eductors that inherently provide backflow protection. There is a water inlet on the side that allows more room inside the unit for check valves, pick-up tubing and plumbing. There are also security features for locking cabinets that hold chemicals to protect against potential theft. Another AccuMax 4P time saver is that the cabinetry comes already assembled on the unit. This pre-built cabinet improves routing of tubing and cuts more than a third of the time to install. There’s a great video we produced that shows how AccuMax 4P maintains a consistent pressure to deliver accurate dosing every time. You can find the AccuMax 4P video on our YouTube channel.

Jackie

Scott, thanks again for the great insight. If you’re seeing something similar with your accounts and you don’t have regulated systems to maintain consistent dilutions, consider the AccuMax 4P. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or visit us at Hydro’s booth #1307 at the ISSA show in Chicago, October 10-13.
