Talking Pumps with Hydro – No Pressure, No Problem

Jackie

Welcome back to Talking Pumps with Hydro. I’m Jackie Pesal and this is Scott Campbell, the product expert at Hydro. Scott, as you know, some facilities face difficulties in reaching the necessary water pressure for chemical dispensers to properly operate. How does this create problems for chemical dispensing equipment?

Scott

There are a couple reasons why educators in chemical dispensing equipment don’t work properly. First, the lack of water pressure prevents the eductor from reaching full vacuum, reducing the chemical suction. Water pressure must be greater than 25 PSI for correct application of chemical dispensers. In a facility with heavy water usage, the water pressure can fluctuate wildly throughout the day, negatively impacting the chemical-to-water ratios.

Another issue is incorrect dispenser installation. Facilities installing a chemical dispenser outside of the recommended best practices can run into functionality problems. Following proper installation techniques found in the installation manual can prevent this particular water-pressure-related issue.

Water pressure is seriously important to deliver accurate and consistent dilutions. Water PSIs fluctuate in buildings so much daily. What can facility managers do to improve something they have little control over?

Scott

Hydro’s solution to this challenge is found with EvoBoost, a sleek electric diaphragm pump with a flow rate of 1.6 GPM.

Jackie

Installing an EvoBoost with a venturi-based water-powered distribution like Hydro’s AccuMax will eliminate water pressure issues?

Scott

That’s right, Jackie. But the beauty of the EvoBoost is it works with most venturi dispensers.

Jackie

Yet one more way Hydro is advancing the industry. Scott, thank you again for taking us through some helpful tips to improve facility efficiencies.
