Probeless – The dispensing amount is fixed. After X racks, dispense for X seconds.
Pros – Consistent, fixed dosing. Chemical companies can charge per rack
Cons – Detergent concentration can drift high or low
Probe – The dispensing amount is driven to a concentration set point.
Pros – Accurate dosing. The detergent level is maintained at a setpoint
Cons - Hard water causes mineral deposits to build up on the prongs, impacting the reading. Requires deliming of the dish machine and routine cleaning or the probe. Requires deliming of the dish machine and routine cleaning or the probe.
The control signals are universal “machine interface” types that are capable of accepting any voltage from 24 to 240 VAC nominal (+/- 10% fluctuation) or 24 VDC (+/- 20% fluctuation).
